My story is a little different from those that I have come across.   When I was younger before marriage and children, I was always thin and curvy, but definitely thin.  I always lost weight fast if I wanted to. I could drop a few pounds before an event just by eating a little less and I always felt energetic and positive.  After I had my first child I gained what I thought was a lot of weight, but fortunately was able to slim back down by the time she turned one.  Shortly after our oldest child turned two I became pregnant with our son.  This pregnancy was alot different, I gained weight much faster and my usual active self was a thing of the past.  I was always sluggish, foggy, and really just not the happy and positive person I once was.  When I had my son I was tipping the scales at the hospital at over 200 pounds.  I never thought I could be that that big.  When I came home from the hospital I tried everything to lose the pounds. I worked out, I took diet pills, prescribed and over the counter and nothing worked. Read more…

4 Ways to Make Your Metabolism More Efficient

The science of metabolism efficiency is new to sports medicine and performance, but all of us can learn from it how to eat to optimize our weight and fitness. The old idea of carb loading is starting to give way to new methods that maintain energy and help us lose weight.

A registered dietician and exercise physiologist, Bob Seebohar stumbled on the idea of metabolic efficiency when he was trying to find ways to keep athletes from having upset stomachs during races. Athletes were loading hundreds of calories before and during races trying to keep from running out of energy late in the race. But in high intensity races, the body diverts blood from digestion to the muscles. And this always seemed to lead to digestive disaster.

Seebohar began to see a pattern in himself and in other athletes showing that carb loading actually did more harm than good. As he began to incorporate diets more similar to those recommended by Jim Ayres for us at Xyngular®, he found that athletes could take in fewer calories, perform better, and become leaner (though athletes are already leaner than most of us on average). Here are four ways to make your body more metabolically efficient.

I am so EXCITED about these products because I am seeing amazing results and I can’t workout at all! I was in an awful head on accident this summer (8/4/11) and I was badly hurt, I still am (I spend 16-18 hours in bed), I went from dancing several hours a day, 4 times a week to no activity & the pounds came on quick. So I can’t workout & spend a lot of time in bed and at the doctors & I am still able to lose inches and pounds. I have lost 20.25 inches & 16 pounds! Read more…

90 Day Challenge

This is a relationship business, and we can only have a strong relationship if we share. That’s why we work so hard to develop the ability to share effectively. Whenever we pass something along…big or small…everyone wins. It doesn’t matter what it is…an idea, a great book or movie, a feeling of gratitude.

Track Your Progress

Whether you just started your 90-Day Challenge a couple of weeks ago or if you’re just starting now, you’ll want to keep TOMA going. In advertising TOMA stands for “top-of-mind awareness.” So every few days you’ll get ideas from XYNGULAR® to use for TOMA…motivation, suggestions, and reminders to inspire you to keep you and your accountability team going for your big goals.

Studies show that many won’t start a weight-loss program because the final goal looks too hard or feels like it would take too long. But with reasonable goals and a 90-day period, the final result is easier than you think. And you can make adjustments along the way.

Start by looking at your personal full 90-Day Body Transformation goal. Then break it down into short term goals. For example, if your goal is to get in shape for a 5k that’s 6 months away, you have two 90-day goals to meet. You obviously won’t get there with 15 hours of training every day for a single week. You didn’t gain your weight in a short period like that either.

So keep the rate at which you’re planning to lose weight realistic. If you haven’t been running regularly for 5 years, you’ll start with daily and weekly goals for distance. Your first week would be maybe a mile a day, the next week 2 miles. You can lengthen the distance each week until you reach your 90-day goal.  Read more…

Be Willing to Pay the Price

Whether you’re going for the 90-Day Body Transformation Challenge or building your Xyngular fortune, you’ll do the disciplines and pay whatever price it takes if the promise and the belief are strong enough. Building belief is one of the most critical functions of leadership. Paying the price is not easy if you can’t keep the promise clearly in mind.

Whatever you would like to accomplish, you won’t have trouble paying the price to get it if you can create in yourself a clear view of what it will be like to achieve it…next week, next month, or even next year. If you were absolutely convinced that the really hard things you put on your goal list were actually going to work out, do you think you’d have trouble paying the price to get them? Absolutely not. But fear comes into the picture and steals our goals if our belief in the future isn’t clear. Read more…

Goals and Dreams

Most of us believe we can be something we haven’t yet become

That’s the “you inside” that hasn’t come to the surface yet. But the “you outside” is the guy doing the activities to get you there. If those activities aren’t happening, there’s internal conflict. Your actions are saying one thing but your potential is elsewhere. You say, “I know I can really be something” as you grab another handful of chips and change channels.

Why do we set group goals and have celebrations to keep our activities up? Because it’s so important for our success and self esteem that our activities line up with our dreams and desires…our WHY. Read more…
